Subject: The Go Team Therapy and Service Dogs Transition

All Go Team Therapy Dog Handlers,

The Board of Directors of The Go Team Therapy and Service Dogs and the newly formed Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs, Inc. would like to inform all current therapy dog handler teams of some upcoming changes. Based on a recent Board decision to dissolve Go Team Therapy and Service Dogs, a new nonprofit corporation called Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs, Inc. was recently formed by our current lead trainer, Nancy Trepagnier.

The new nonprofit will continue to operate as the “Go Team,” and will strive to continue the same mission and uphold the same high standards as the current nonprofit has since 2014. A new Board of Directors, consisting of active handlers like yourselves from a variety of backgrounds, has been selected for the nonprofit.

Effective immediately, all therapy dog handler teams will have the option to transfer their membership in Go Team to “Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs, Inc.” Although some of your member IDs show insurance expiring later this year, the master policy for the original Go Team nonprofit expires on April 4, 2018, at which time members will no longer be covered for Go Team work. Nancy has arranged for the same insurance to cover members transferring to the Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs, Inc. and anticipates seamless coverage for transferring members.

If you choose to transfer your membership, please copy and paste the following language into an email along with your name and the name(s) of your dog(s) and send to info@goteamdogs.org:

I am a current member of The Go Team Therapy and Service Dogs. I would like to transfer my membership to Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs, Inc., and will complete all required paperwork for the new nonprofit.

If you do not send the email as described above, it will be assumed that you will not be transferring your membership to Go Team Therapy, Crisis, and Airport Dogs, Inc. If that is the case, we encourage you to explore other options, so you can continue providing valuable therapy dog services in a manner that best suits them. Please feel free to contact either board with questions or concerns. As there may have been some confusion in the past, we also want to bring to your attention that neither Go Team Therapy and Service Dogs or Go Team Therapy, Crisis, and Airport Dogs, Inc. is an affiliate of Sit Means Sit. We sincerely thank you and your special pups for all you do. You have touched so many over the years and your acts of kindness are truly appreciated in the communities you serve. Please continue the tradition of helping those who just need a bit of sunshine. God bless!

Signed,

The Go Team Therapy and Service Dogs Board of Directors, and

Go Team Therapy, Crisis, and Airport Dogs, Inc. Board of Directors
